For our Liskeard Ladies’ route click here (25 miles with 472 m climb). Liskeard Velo route to follow.
It takes quite a lot to persuade me to get out on the bike twice in a week end and especially in January but a combination of settled weather, promises of not too many hills, and wonderful company were an irresistible combination and a recipe for a great week end of cycling.
For our eight Liskeard Ladies this was a roll down the Draynes Valley to Jamaica Inn (lovely to have Gayle with us on her hybrid); a good old catch up over coffee and scones by the fire in their Smugglers Bar and then back down along the beautiful Colliford Lake route.
For our twelve (yes, twelve!) Liskeard Velo cyclists this was a day out led by Ian along the ridgeway to Bethany, across the A38 to Bake, (where the group picked up some of us who had opted for a shorter even less hilly route) and then along through Narkurs and Crafthole to our café stop at the lovely Cliff Top Café, Freathy. Then along the cliff road and those lovely views to Rame Head. Finally back again and into Seaton for a closer look at the sea and home via Hessenford and Castle Motors. Such a pleasure to cycle in the continuing dry weather and with such a great group of companions before we move into our various programmes for 2019.
