Saturday 2nd December, 2017 – Liskeard Ladies begin Christmas celebrations with trip to Darite Xmas Fair and then back down the hill to Susie’s for our annual merry making with those mince pies!

Our route:  12 miles (20.1 km);  337 m climbed.  (All pics below)

Well, a grey day and Christmas shopping commitments did not deter our Ladies from being out there and getting Christmas under way on their bicycles.  Our group of ten were delighted to welcome Sandra and Manon  for the first time – lots of discussions, therefore about how to keep fingers and toes warm at this time of year.  We never warn people properly just how many layers you have to wear once it gets colder.

Ann W-B had designed us a route which meant that all the climbing was before the coffee stop at Darite Christmas Fair.  Lovely to see so many arts and crafts on display – and we were all sorry we didn’t have room on our bikes to bring home a few goodies.  From Darite we sailed down through Tremar and Horizon Farms and back to Looedown, just outside Liskeard, where Susie had prepared us a wonderful Christmas spread – complete with delicious (Mary Berry recipe) home-made cake.  Thank you, Susie!  Now we feel that Christmas is properly under way 🙂
