Eleven Liskeard Ladies, joined by female friends and family when we arrived back at Megan’s for our Christmas spread (wonderful!) gave up wrapping presents and writing cards for this Christmas jaunt. Setting off in a mixture of sunshine and foggy conditions along lanes that were muddy at times, our troup (well, particularly Carol) introduced a splash of sparkle and colour as we cycled past Tom Mitchell potatoes, through to Looe Mills, over the hill and along to Watergate. Then ploughing on through quite a bit of mud up the hill past Treleathick Farm and right onto the road to Commonmoor before finally turning off for Darite and our cuppa at the Village Hall. A big thank you to Mark, Emily and their team for making us so welcome and for that roaring fire!
After a group pic round their beautiful tree (thank you again, Mark) we cycled away from Darite, through Crow’s Nest and up to Fore Down before turning right and along the lanes back down to Rose Craddock and then along the main road into Liskeard and to Megan’s home. Megan, Ann B and Connie had provided enough food and mulled fruit juice for 50 and it was great to share the occasion with a few other close friends. Total ride approx. 15 miles – a perfect end of year ride for this wonderful women’s group!
