Monday 18th July, 2016 -Cycle adventure across Brecon Beacons and Cambrian Mountains to link up with Pete’s Godfather near Aberystwyth

You know there are hilly rides and then there are hilly rides.  Back in the safety of relatively flat Cornwall I would say that our trip across Wales was definitely a “hilly ride”.

Things that will stick in my mind are being up on the firing range far above Senny Bridge and Pete saying, “Great, just what we need  – to be on a firing range with no visibility”; struggling up something called the Devil’s Staircase on the Abergwesyn Pass – four 25% climbs over 20 miles; the amazing beauty of all the U-shaped valleys; and the pleasure of finally arriving at the home of Simon and Monica, up in the Cambrian Mountains north west of Aberystwyth.  What a ride!
