Thursday 3rd March 2015 – first training ride for Ride London 100

Geoff and I cried off last night’s pub ride.  The forecast wasn’t too bad but we had been finding it hard to stay upright in the wind – and when out with the horses we had had to negotiate a number of fallen trees – and the very heavy hail showers looked like they could make the evening ride less than enjoyable.

Today however was different. No wind, glimpses of blue sky and I was once again heading to Plymouth for the dentist so this was a great opportunity to cycle the 10 miles to St Germans and pick up the train there.  A lovely ride although a lot slower than I would do it if I was a bit fitter but it felt good to have made a start again.  Pete and I have both somehow secured a place in the Ride London 100 on 31st July and it would be nice to do it justice, if possible – so a good incentive to get the bike out two or three times a week at this stage.

Next ride will be with the girls’ group on Saturday when we hope to head out to Kit Hill.

  1. Hi Ann, the Wednesdays seems to have the black clouds, wind, rain and cold at the moment. Only three on Parade on Wednesday, I went for a run instead…..Looking forward to Saturday, hopefully dry and cool. See you, hope your teeth are ok. Greetings to Geoff please. x ann
